i know no one likes rules, but we all have them, so deal with it or don't join the site.
JOINING when you join, you can use whatever login name you like. when your character is accepted, if an admin hasn't changed your display name to your character's name, then make sure you do it. we're usually pretty accurate with this stuff, so hardly anyone will have to pay attention to this.
APPLICATION the application is the way it is because that's how it was made. do NOT mess with any of the coding, just fill out what you're supposed to fill out. it's understandable if it's on accident, but if the application is a different color(s) than what it is in the preview, we'll ask you to re-do it. all you have to do when we ask you this, is copy the code in the application preview and transfer your answers. it's not that hard.
if your application is NOT finished when you post it, please make sure you give some sort of reference to let us know that it's not done. once it is finished, then edit the title and take out your unfinished reference.
POSTING there's no character limit at this site. you can give a 15-paragraph post and your role playing partner can reply with a simple one-liner. i know it's frustrating for you that are extremely literate role players, but some are still newbies so you can't blame them for not being very great.
although we're not one of those forums where you have to have 300 words in each post, we do want you to spell most of your post correctly. if your posts look like a preschooler's spelling test, we'll most likely correct it if we can understand it. if this happens too many times, we'll pm you and let you know that you need to start using spell check. you can use almost any typing program on your computer; microsoft word, word pad, and note pad are just fine.
BULLYING it's not cool, so don't do it. if we hear about you bullying someone else, we'll contact you and if you fight with us about it and are rude to us, we'll delete you without a second thought. all you have to do is say 'yes, i did it' and we'll just tell you that you have another chance and we'll explain it to the person that reported it. we'll also have you apologize, and we'll ask that person if you did or not. believe it or not, cyber bullying IS a crime, and my uncles work for the fbi and one's a cop.
POWER PLAYING it's annoying. don't do it. i hate it when it happens to me. unless it's okay with your role playing partner, don't do any of it. here's an example of power playing:
you have to give the other person a chance to react, so here's how it should really be:
MARY SUES AND GARY DREWS those are annoying, too. no one is perfect, so everyone has to have a flaw. not even the models are perfect and they'll admit it.
FUN IS THE SECRET WORD have it! that's what the site is for.
